Both agencies co-located to the same building. The Public Safety Center was constructed in 1978 by the County and the City agreed to co-locate. In 2008 both agencies moved in the new Law Enforcement Center, constructed and paid for by the City of Grand Island. By sharing and combining services and resources, both agencies save taxpayers’ money as well as establishing effectiveness and efficiencies. Obviously we have a good working relationship, “roommates since 78.” Both agencies assist each other as needed as well as working with law enforcement officers in our area.
