Hall County Roads Department:
Equipment Operator

The Hall County Roads Department has an opening for an equipment operator and will be accepting applications through 11/24/2014. Applications are available at the Highway Department, 2900 W. 2nd Street or at Nebraska Workforce Center


REQUIRMENTS: Must be 18 years of age and have a good driving record. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend and stoop, work in outdoor temperature extremes and work around high speed traffic. A Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License is required within 60 days of employment. Must be able to report to work outside scheduled work hours for snow and other highway emergencies within 30 minutes under normal driving conditions. Must be a safe worker who is team oriented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Operates trucks and other light equipment to complete highway maintenance work. Operates post drivers for the installation of signs, fences and guardrails and other hand held power or manual tools. Performs tree trimming and brush cutting. Performs manual labor for concrete and bituminous patching and sealing of cracks in highways and structures. Manually provides highway traffic control for construction and maintenance projects according to safety procedures. Physically moves, loads and unloads highway materials and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Completes routine and general maintenance and mechanical repair of equipment. Performs snow removal, maintains yards and performs building maintenance and clearing. May apply chemicals of selective and non-selective herbicide spray to highway right-of-way.

Central Nebraska Drug Court:
Drug Court Coordinator

Wage: ($40,000.00 - $53,000.00) negotiable depending on experience.

The Central Nebraska Drug Court is taking applications for a full-time Drug Court Coordinator for Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney (central Nebraska) area. Job duties include: supervision and evaluation of work performed by subordinate staff; develop, review, and upgrade of agency policies and procedures; maintain appropriate documentation which supports compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws; collect and monitor data outcomes; prepare reports as necessary; participate in client program orientation and case management; facilitate weekly staffing and court hearings for participating counties; ability to secure funding and write grant applications; and ability to utilize specialized computer programs and prepare budgets.

Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement benefits.

Background and security clearance are mandatory. Applicant is required to have a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, criminal justice or related field.

The Hall County Attorney Office is seeking an attorney to fill the full-time position of Deputy County Attorney.

Duties will primarily involve child support enforcement including establishment of paternity and establishment, modification and enforcement of support orders. Motivated individuals with experience in child support enforcement are preferred, however attorneys without support enforcement experience and newly admitted attorneys with strong credentials will also be considered. On-Site Visitation Schedule

The Hall County Department of Corrections will no longer be offering on-site visitation on Mondays. To visit an inmate on-site you must register at least 24 hours in advance at the facility or online at The new On-site visit schedule will be Tuesday – Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. You may schedule unlimited off-site internet based video visit by visiting Off-site visits will be subject to a small fee and can be scheduled with no waiting period with prior site approval. Off-site visits will continue Monday – Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
